A Brazil UFO clip is still moving: distant lights near Campo Largo, a named witness, local TV follow-up, and official denials from FAB and ABIN.

On May 31, Mayk Leão, a Brazilian animal rescuer and influencer from Campo Largo, Paraná, posted a sequence of Instagram Stories that has since moved through X, Brazilian UFO accounts, and local TV.

The clip shows distant lights above a dark ridge. What it shows beyond that is contested.

The story before the lights

Leão's day started strangely.

He told Brazilian outlets that animals on his rural property near Curitiba were agitated and staring into the vegetation, and that he heard sounds he later compared to "a strained cord" or "a choking noise."

GMC Online, a local outlet, reported that part of the disturbance may have come from an intruder leaving the property on a motorcycle. That detail cuts both ways. It gives the noisy day a mundane anchor. It does not explain what Leão filmed that night.

What the clip actually shows

The lights are the part still moving. Ovniologia reposted the Stories, and the clip became the version circulating in English.

The frames show a cluster of lights at or just above a ridge. They are dark, zoomed, and lack a stable reference. There is no visible body, no clear size, no clean distance.

As Portal Vigília noted, the sightline crosses dirt roads that could host vehicle activity, and the video's perspective does not fix how far the lights actually were.

Leão says they were close. In a later live, he said the object was large, colorful - "blue, yellow, green" - and above the Açungui River, about 500 meters from the residence. The initial frame of reference, though, was the Serra do Purunã, a ridge in the region.

Three claims now sit on top of the same clip: distant lights on a ridge, nearby lights over a river, and a large object over the property. They are not the same claim.

June 3 update: local TV and official denials

Brazilian media picked the story up. Band Paraná aired a follow-up segment in which Leão said the lights "vibrated" and reiterated that he did not read them as a normal aircraft.

Then came the official layer. SBT News reported that the Brazilian Air Force, FAB, said its radars did not detect an object in Campo Largo that night. TecMundo added that ABIN, Brazil's intelligence agency, also responded.

Neither denial identifies the lights. Both narrow the file.

The Spielberg timing

The timing is part of the story.

Brazilian TV had just aired renewed attention around Steven Spielberg and the 1996 Varginha case, with Rony Vernet and James Fox amplifying a segment on Moment of Contact, Fox's documentary on the case.

A rural UFO clip with strange sounds and a shaken witness landing in the same week was bound to read as more than coincidence to some viewers, and as convenient publicity around Spielberg's upcoming Disclosure Day to others.

Neither reading settles the lights.

For now the public trail has a named witness, a rural property, distant lights, local TV follow-up, and official denials. The lights are visible. The object is still Leão's account.
